CARLSBAD — Eighteen different nonprofits and schools were awarded a combined $25,000 for classroom instruments, youth theater productions, and art festivals from Carlsbad’s annual Community Arts Grants.
ENCINITAS — During the week, Mickey Strider produces award-winning television and web campaigns for clients that include Asics running shoes, Newcastle Brown Ale, Wild Turkey bourbon and PF Chang’s.
SOLANA BEACH — Alex Brown Church, the man behind Sea Wolf, has come full circle — in more ways than one.
CARLSBAD — The New Village Arts Foundry Studios will begin its summerlong First Fridays at the Foundry, which includes art for sale, a hands-on craft, live music and refreshments June 7.
ENCINITAS — If Letty Nowak’s father was still alive, he’d be proud and maybe just a bit envious of his daughter.
CARLSBAD — The downtown Village area of Carlsbad has seen an uptick in street art over the past few months, possibly due to a new book on a famous British street artist.
Now in its 14th year, the Arts Alive banner exhibit has again brought 101 original banners painted by local artists to the light poles spanning the miles between Cardiff-by-the-Sea and La Costa Avenue in Leucadia.
