One dead, another injured in Fallbrook home incident

FALLBROOK — One person died and another was injured following an undisclosed incident over the weekend at a home in Fallbrook, authorities said Monday.

Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office responded to an “incomplete” 911 call in the 300 block of Woodcrest Lane around 8:05 p.m. Sunday, according to the agency.

Upon entering the residence, deputies found two people suffering from visible traumatic injuries. Both victims were taken to a hospital, where one was later pronounced dead. The second person is expected to survive, officials said.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

Because of the nature of the incident, the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and has taken over the investigation. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Authorities said there is no known threat to the community.

Anyone with information regarding the incident was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit at 858-285-6330 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
