ENCINITAS — A storm that rolled through the region this past weekend took down power lines, uprooted trees and resulted in minor bluff collapses. All of which city kept public safety officials on their toes.
ESCONDIDO — When peppered with questions about public safety, the city’s former police chief, and library hours from concerned citizens, Mayor Sam Abed stressed the challenges and recent successes of balancing the city’s budget at a public hearing on Oct. 9.
OCEANSIDE — The Neighborhood Services Department, police department and Oceanside Unified School District shared their current efforts to protect kids and prevent gangs at a workshop April 24.
COAST CITIES — Juggling increased and unprecedented responsibilities, San Diego County’s probation and Sheriff’s departments, the District Attorney’s office and local law enforcement agencies are working to minimize the state’s prison realignment legislation’s effects on public safety and eventually reduce recidivism for low-level criminals.
OCEANSIDE — Community feedback from six budget workshops was shared at the Strategic Planning Workshop on Jan. 23.
