VISTA — Law enforcement has made an arrest in connection with the murder of a man in Vista who was found deceased in an empty lot in the 1200 Block of Hacienda Drive last week.
The decedent, Jose Garcia Ramirez, was discovered on March 30 without any visible trauma. However, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and discovered a brain bleed that may have resulted from head trauma, which prompted the homicide investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Arturo Garcia Morales on April 3 in Oceanside and charged him with the murder of Ramirez. No further information was provided about the investigation or the circumstances that led to the arrest.
“Further details regarding the investigation will be released as they become available,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Garcia Morales is being held without bail and will be arraigned in Vista Superior Court on Tuesday.
An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit at (858) 285-6330/after hours, at (858) 868-3200 or reach out anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
