When you grow up with the Solana Beach ocean breeze in your backyard, giving back to your hometown comes naturally. For Torrey Pines High School senior Jordan Azevedo, that passion takes shape both on the sand and behind the screen.
Before joining the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce as its newest Marketing Intern, Jordan was already a familiar face around local sports circuits. A varsity volleyball captain at Torrey Pines, where he earned Offensive Player of the Year honors, he also competes in beach volleyball and plays club with WAVE Volleyball Club. When he isn’t on the court, you’ll likely find him coaching youth basketball or volunteering, embodying the active, community-first spirit of the local coastline.
That same energy now powers the Chamber’s digital presence. Since stepping into his role in May 2026, Jordan has turned his high school coursework in Intro to Business and Marketing into high-impact, real-world storytelling. Tasked with managing social media for both the Chamber and Visit Solana Beach, he uses dynamic short-form videos and event coverage to put a spotlight on the town’s unique charm. His creative visual push has resonated deeply, generating over 180,000 views and drawing more than 300 new followers across the platform accounts.
For Jordan, the heart of the job lies in connection. One of his favorite assignments is producing the Chamber’s “Member of the Week” video series. The role gives a front-row seat to the local business community, allowing him to sit down with neighborhood entrepreneurs, hear their journeys, and share their work with the public. Whether he is showcasing hidden gems for Visit Solana Beach or capturing the collaborative energy of Chamber luncheons, ribbon cuttings, and Cheers to Careers networking nights, his focus remains on highlighting the people who make the city thrive.
Supported by a Chamber team that encourages his creative input, Jordan views the internship as more than just a stepping stone for his future career; it is a tribute to the place he has always called home. As he moves through his senior year, he remains eager to keep introducing the community to the vibrant local businesses that give Solana Beach its character and championing local economic growth.
