Coffee Club: Young professionals in Solana Beach make connections one cup at a time

The Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce is proud to spotlight one of its fastest-growing initiatives this year: the Chamber’s Young Professionals program.

Throughout 2026, the Chamber has focused on creating more opportunities for the next generation of business leaders to meet, build relationships and become more connected to the local business community. The response has exceeded expectations and demonstrated just how much interest there is in creating a stronger network for emerging professionals.

At the center of the program is Coffee Club, a monthly gathering hosted at Chamber member coffee shops throughout the city. Events have taken place at local favorites including T’s Cafe, The Coop Bakehouse & Pantry and Achilles Coffee.

Each month, the Solana Beach Chamber also partners with the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce, expanding the circle and giving attendees an opportunity to meet young professionals from neighboring communities.

The casual format is intentional. Rather than a formal networking event, Coffee Club gives participants an easy way to introduce themselves, learn what others are working on and begin relationships that can develop naturally over time.

What started as a small gathering of just a handful of attendees has grown into a vibrant group of 20 or more young professionals each month. The growth reflects something important: younger members of the business community are looking for opportunities not only to make professional contacts, but also to become part of the broader community around them.

That connection benefits the Chamber as well. Bringing younger professionals into the Chamber network creates opportunities for relationships between established and emerging business leaders while introducing a new generation to the value of local involvement, collaboration and community-minded business.

The program goes beyond morning coffee. Once each quarter, Cheers to Careers offers an evening social hour featuring food, drinks and relaxed conversation. It provides another setting for participants to strengthen relationships and meet people they may not encounter during the normal workday.

Together, Coffee Club and Cheers to Careers are helping the Chamber create something bigger than another networking event: a welcoming entry point into the local business community.

The Solana Beach Chamber is excited to see where those connections lead and invites young professionals throughout the community to attend an upcoming Coffee Club or Cheers to Careers event.
