Fostering growth, mentorship and connection for young professionals in North County

Kai Swick, a financial advisor and tax preparer at Solomon Wealth Management, is deeply connected to coastal North County. Originally from Carlsbad, Kai grew up skating and surfing, enjoying the laid-back beach lifestyle that shaped his early years. After attending MiraCosta Community College, he went on to study at San Diego State University. Today, he resides in Point Loma and works in Encinitas.

At Solomon Wealth Management, Swick helps clients “align their financial goals with their core values.” The company’s comprehensive approach includes services ranging from investment strategies and portfolio management to tax planning, college savings, and succession planning.

“We take the time to truly understand our clients and their families—not just on a professional level, but on a personal one as well. Creating these strong relationships is essential for crafting financial plans that are both effective and tailored to each client’s unique needs.”

Kai is a member of the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce, where he sees the value in being actively involved in the community. “The Chamber offers a platform for making connections, but more importantly, it allows individuals to play a role in shaping the future and well-being of the community.”

Kai’s work on the Chamber’s Education & Networking Committee includes his leadership of the Young Professionals Networking Group for Coastal North County. “This group offers young professionals meaningful face-to-face interactions foster deeper relationships, build trust, and create a sense of belonging.”

Kai is especially passionate about mentorship and aims to integrate this into the Young Professionals Networking Group. “I’ve personally experienced the immense value of mentorship and hope to pay it forward on a larger scale. Our planning committee is deeply committed to creating meaningful events and opportunities for young professionals focusing on initiatives that provide real value, foster growth, and inspire everyone involved.”

Looking to the future, Kai hopes the group will evolve into a thriving community. “Our goal is to create an environment that encourages connection and collaboration beyond the official meetups. Something as simple as our Coffee Club led to the creation of a boogie board group, proving that when you provide a welcoming, casual space for people to engage, great things happen.”

Perfect day in Encinitas?

“Surfing at Grandview or going to the gym early in the morning, followed by a productive workday, ending by attending a Young Professionals ‘Cheers to Careers’ mixer for connection and laughs.”
