Hi Rexy,
I wanted In-N-Out for breakfast this morning, but my mom said that hamburgers are for nighttime. Why can’t we eat hamburgers in the morning?

Dear Cameron,
My dinosaur tummy sometimes asks: Who decided that pancakes belong at breakfast and hamburgers at lunch or dinner?
I have learned that trying to understand means listening to your parents even when you have a different idea. Grown-ups sometimes have good reasons for their breakfast rules! But that doesn’t mean you can’t use your imagination. I love thinking of breakfast ideas! Maybe you could make a Roar-some breakfast sandwich or invent your own Rexy Breakfast creation.
Here’s my challenge for you: Ask your grown-up, “Can I think of three different breakfast ideas? Then see if you can agree on one together.
Please remember: Having an idea is always okay. Listening, asking and talking about your idea is how you grow your thinking.
Now pardon me — I suddenly have a craving for pancakes!
Enjoy your breakfast,
Rexy
