Woman in theft case sought

ENCINITAS — Detectives are seeking help from the public to find a woman wanted for attempting to use a stolen credit card to buy a luxury watch in February.

On Feb. 17, a woman’s purse was stolen from her shopping cart at the Home Goods store in the 200 block of North El Camino Real in Encinitas. The victim left her purse unattended for a few seconds in the cart.

When she returned her purse was gone.

Later that day, the woman being sought by detectives tried to use one of the credit cards inside the stolen purse to buy a $4,000 watch at the Ben Bridge store located at the Westfield UTC mall in University City. The transaction was declined because the victim had already canceled her credit cards.

Detectives are asking the public to help find the suspect in the photos. If you recognize the woman pictured, call the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station and ask for Detective Heather Bruton at (760) 966‐3500.

You can remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Call Crime Stoppers at (888) 580‐8477.
