Wellness for Every Body: Connections for everyone

For Jen Hibbits, connecting people is both a profession and a personal passion. A longtime Encinitas resident, new Encinitas Chamber of Commerce board member, Health & Wellness Committee member and Membership Committee co-chair, she sees relationships as the foundation of a thriving community.

That belief is helping shape the Chamber’s Wellness for Every Body Healthy Living Expo on Nov. 7, an opportunity for residents to discover local businesses and explore approaches to well-being.

“Wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all,” Hibbits said. “Our vision is to celebrate the many dimensions of well-being, including physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health, while introducing residents to our remarkable local resources.”

Through interactive experiences, workshops, demonstrations and conversations with local wellness professionals, attendees can discover new ways to support their well-being.

The Expo offers a welcoming space to ask questions, explore local resources and connect with experts.

Hibbits hopes each visitor discovers something new, makes a meaningful connection and leaves inspired to take one positive step toward better health.

The event also offers opportunities for Encinitas businesses, from acupuncturists and yoga studios to health coaches and other practitioners, to build referrals, partnerships and collaborations.

“When our local businesses thrive, our entire community benefits.”

Hibbits brings more than 20 years of marketing experience, including work in healthcare and personal development.

Today, through her company, JBits Connects, she helps small business owners, particularly women building purpose-driven businesses, replace random acts of marketing and create connected systems that support their larger business goals.

Her approach to getting a “Digital House” in order connects websites, content, email and other marketing efforts.

Her commitment to Encinitas extends beyond business. Both of her sons attended San Dieguito Academy; her youngest recently left for UC Santa Cruz, while her oldest lives and works in the Bay Area.

She also launched Those Witches Be Crazy in 2019, a witchin’ daytime fun crawl combining friends, laughter, food and drink with stops along Highway 101 with fundraising for the Community Resource Center.

This year’s event takes place Saturday, Oct. 24. Coast News readers can use code COASTWITCH for $5 off tickets at ThoseWitchesBeCrazy.com.

That appreciation for local life informs her Encinitas Chamber involvement: helping neighbors discover businesses and resources in their own backyard.

Her Perfect Day in Encinitas?

“Wandering south from Leucadia along Highway 101 with my partner Eric, exploring local shops, enjoying the scenery and stopping at the Meditation Gardens before heading to Las Olas for tacos and margaritas.  Sunshine, plenty of steps, good company, and absolutely no rush. Perfection!”
