Bamboo Garden Wellness Center: Where science and spirituality meet

Married couple Drs. Michelle Dexter and Richard Jelusich co-own Bamboo Garden Wellness Center in Encinitas, which opened in 2022. Dr. Dexter, an Integrative Psychologist and Sexologist with over 20 years of experience, specializes in energy psychology and created Integrative Biofield Healing Arts™ to address root causes of love, sex, and relationship challenges. She is also research faculty at the California Institute for Human Science (CIHS). Dr. Jelusich, an Energy Medicine Practitioner and Spiritual Counselor for over 30 years, founded the Light News Institute and developed Integrative Chakra Therapy®, a form of energy medicine. He also serves as chair of the board of trustees and lead faculty at CIHS.

The vision behind Bamboo Garden Wellness Center is to provide a space for holistic practitioners focused on “integral health—mind, body, and spirit.” Dr. Dexter explains, “We aim to resolve challenges from the roots up, offering an oasis for healing and education.” The center provides health workshops, lectures, and treatments like energy psychology, energy medicine acupuncture, Traditional Chinese medicine, massage, craniosacral therapy, neurofeedback, nutritional counseling, reflexology and more.

What sets Bamboo Garden apart is its comprehensive approach to wellness. “We address the whole human being—physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional,” says Dr. Jelusich. With over 25 practitioners, Bamboo Garden is the only wellness center offering Integrative Biofield Healing Arts™ and Integrative Chakra Therapy®. Dr. Dexter adds, “We’re one of the few wellness centers in Southern California offering such a broad range of energy psychology interventions.”

Dr. Jelusich created the Light News Institute in the 1990s to promote education in energy medicine and energy psychology. He developed Integrative Chakra Therapy® to address the seven energy centers along the spine, which affect physical, mental, and spiritual health.

For those new to holistic practices, Dr. Jelusich advises asking questions: “Many people don’t fully understand subtle energy and how it influences health, especially in acupuncture and energy medicine.”

Dr. Dexter adds, “We emphasize educating people about the human biofield, empowering them to take charge of the health of the whole human being.”

As a member of the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce Health & Wellness Committee, Dr. Jelusich advocates for a holistic approach to well-being: “Our mission is to help businesses and individuals thrive through education and awareness, focusing on both the spiritual and scientific aspects of health.”

Dr. Jelusich’s “perfect day” in Encinitas?

“Feeling the ocean breeze and helping others achieve wellness, surrounded by like-minded individuals.”
