Weekly Crime Reports: Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach

The Sheriff’s Dept. North Coastal Station’s crime reports from July 15-21 for the cities of Encinitas, Del Mar, and Solana Beach. All arrestees in these reports are presumed innocent. 

Caro, 41, was cited and released at 10:00 a.m. on July 15 at 500 West Mission Avenue, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Ramirez, 25, was cited and released at 10:00 a.m. on July 15 at 500 West Mission Avenue, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Smith, 27, was cited and released at 10:02 a.m. on July 15 at 600 West Mission Avenue, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant. 

Munn, 31, was arrested at 10:06 a.m. on July 15 at Cottonwood Creek Park, North Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for misdemeanor possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, use/under the influence of a controlled substance, and false identification to a peace officer. Intangible personal identifying information was reported as stolen.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for found property at 10:13 a.m. on July 15 at 100 North El Camino Real, Encinitas. A black Coach wallet was reported to have been found at the scene.

Brothers, 59, was cited and released at 10:22 a.m. on July 15 at the Nordahl Road Sprinter Station, 2100 Barha Drive, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for a temporary restraining order at 10:35 a.m. on July 15 at 100 Jupiter Street, Encinitas.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for found property at 11:21 a.m. on July 15 at 500 Pacific Avenue, Solana Beach. Miscellaneous ammunition, a Western Long Range shotgun, Marlin Firearms Co. rifle, shotgun, and miscellaneous firearm parts were all reported as being found at the scene.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for fraud at 11:31 a.m. on July 15 at 1600 Tucker Lane, Encinitas. The victim reported stolen intangible personal identifying information ($16,743.50). 

Piatek, 50, was cited and released at 11:39 a.m. on July 15 at 2500 Carlsbad Blvd, Carlsbad, for a misdemeanor active warrant and a warrant from another agency.

Balderas, 31, was cited and released at 4:15 p.m. on July 15 at 100 Olive Avenue, Vista, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for petty theft at 5:55 p.m. on July 15 at the Encinitas Community Center, 1100 Oakcrest Park Drive, Encinitas. The victim reported a stolen electronic component ($597.04).

Adams, 41, was cited and released at 7:57 p.m. on July 15 at the Melrose Sprinter Station, 1400 North Melrose Drive, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Luna, 30, was cited and released at 8:41 p.m. on July 15 at the Melrose Sprinter Station, 1400 North Melrose Drive, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant and a warrant from another agency.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for assault with a deadly weapon at 10:19 p.m. on July 15 at 500 North Highway 101, Solana Beach. The victim reported an apparent minor injury. 

Romero,  37, was cited and released at 4:18 a.m. on July 16 at Walmart, 1500 Leucadia Blvd, Encinitas for a misdemeanor active warrant and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.

Torres, 58, was cited and released at 3:34 a.m. on July 16 at the YMCA, 200 Saxony Road, Encinitas, for possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. 

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for grand theft at 8:26 a.m. on July 16 at 400 Canyon Drive, Solana Beach. The victim reported stolen miscellaneous tools ($6,476).

Smith, 36, was arrested at 8:28 a.m. on July 16 at the Camp Pendleton Main Gate, 1200 Vandergrift, Oceanside, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for a felony warrant from another agency.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for battery at 8:55 a.m. on July 16 at Moonlight Beach, 400 West B Street, Encinitas.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for domestic violence at 9:14 a.m. on July 16 at 300 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for battery at 12:14 p.m. on July 16 at 400 Union Street, Encinitas.

Walton, 33, was cited and released at 2:23 p.m. on July 16 at Vista Village Drive, Vista, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for a temporary restraining order at 2:34 p.m. on July 16 at 2100 Valleydale Lane, Encinitas.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for battery at 3:22 p.m. on July 16 at 200 South El Camino Real, Encinitas. The victim reported an apparent minor injury.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for a vehicle burglary at 3:46 p.m. on July 16 at Stratford Court and Dolphin Cove Court, Del Mar. The victim reported stolen miscellaneous clothing ($1,000), miscellaneous papers, and eyeglasses ($300).

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for a missing person at 7:18 p.m. on July 16 at 200 Aspenwood Lane, Encinitas. Andrew Hamerdinger, 63, was reported as missing.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for battery at 9:11 p.m. on July 16 at 2100 Montgomery Avenue, Cardiff By The Sea. 

Greuel, 32, was cited and released at 8:32 a.m. on July 17 at the Oceanside Transit Center, 100 South Tremont Street, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant. 

Dollar, 60, was arrested at 8:38 a.m. on July 17 at the Oceanside Transit Center, 100 South Tremont Street, Oceanside, and booked into the Vista Detention Center for a felony bench warrant.

Munoz, 45, was cited and released at 8:59 a.m. on July 17 at 1800 Oceanside Blvd, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant and a misdemeanor warrant from another agency.

Knapp, 32, was arrested at 8:59 a.m. on July 17 at 1800 Oceanside Blvd, Oceanside, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for a felony warrant from another agency.

Del Rosario, 49, was cited and released at 9:26 a.m. on July 17 at Foussat Road and Mission Avenue, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant and a misdemeanor warrant from another agency.

Fikes, 58, was cited and released at 9:42 a.m. on July 17 at 1500 West Valley Parkway, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Dunnam, 42, was cited and released at 9:46 a.m. on July 17 at 1600 West Valley Parkway, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant. 

Russell, 51, was arrested at 9:53 a.m. on July 17 at 16100 Via Del Alba, Rancho Santa Fe, and booked into the Vista Detention Center for misdemeanor battery on a spouse/ex-spouse/date/etc. 

Greuel, 32, was cited and released at 9:56 a.m. on July 17 at 1500 West Valley Parkway, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant. 

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for found property at 9:59 a.m. on July 17 at Sprouts Farmers Market, 1300 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas. Currency ($400) was reported as found at the scene.

Mendez, 54, was cited and released at 10:24 a.m. on July 17 at 600 West Mission Avenue, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Ambriz, 43, was cited and released at 10:29 a.m. on July 17 at the Assembly of the Faith in Jesus, 200 South Clementine Street, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Rodriguez, 37, was cited and released at 10:48 a.m. on July 17 at the Assembly of the Faith in Jesus, 200 South Clementine Street, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Carter, 64, was cited and released at 10:48 a.m. on July 17 at the Assembly of the Faith in Jesus, 200 South Clementine Street, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Ruiz, 39, was cited and released at 10:48 a.m. on July 17 at the Assembly of the Faith in Jesus, 200 South Clementine Street, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Diaz, 39, was arrested at 1:48 p.m. on July 17 at the State of California Employment Department, 1300 Simpson Way, Escondido, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for a felony parole violation and felony warrant from another agency.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for shoplifting at 2:26 p.m. on July 17 at Best Buy, 1000 North El Camino Real, Encinitas. The victim reported three stolen electronic components ($2,150.72). 

Cantu, 25, was cited and released at 2:36 p.m. on July 17 at 200 South Tremont Street, Oceanside, for a misdemeanor active warrant.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for petty theft at 4:49 p.m. on July 17 at Home Goods, 200 North El Camino Real, Encinitas. The victim reported a stolen wallet ($2,000), currency ($300), two checkbooks, and miscellaneous goods ($100).

Salgado, 42, was arrested at 7:48  p.m. on July 17 at 2900 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for misdemeanor disorderly conduct (intoxicated, drugs with alcohol). 

Gutierrez, 38, was arrested at 9:06 p.m. on July 17 at La Granada and El Tordo, Rancho Santa Fe, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for misdemeanor disorderly conduct (alcohol). 

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for fraud at 11:27 a.m. on July 18 at 2100 Manchester Avenue, Encinitas. The victim reported stolen currency ($67,000). 

Butts, 53, was cited and released at 2:25 p.m. on July 18 at Swami’s Beach, 1300 South Coast Highway 101, Encinitas, for misdemeanor disorderly conduct (intoxicated, drugs with alcohol).

Dorn, 51, was arrested at 4:27 a.m. on July 18 at Days Inn, 100 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas, for tampering with a fire alarm and disorderly conduct (under the influence of drugs).

Pokorny, 28, was cited and released at 12:31 p.m. on July 18 at 1600 West 9th Avenue, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant and a misdemeanor warrant from another agency.

Jackson, 37, was cited and released at 12:45 p.m. on July 18 at Church of God, 1800 Harmony Grove Road, Escondido, for a misdemeanor active warrant and a misdemeanor warrant from another agency.

Quinn, 37, was arrested at 1:37 p.m. on July 18 at Target, 1000 North El Camino Real, Encinitas, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for felony possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a projectile tear gas weapon, unlawful display of non-compliance, shoplifting, possession of burglary tools, receiving known stolen property, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Four license plates, a PlayStation WD Black ($138), miscellaneous clothing ($100), and miscellaneous consumer goods ($8) were all recovered at the scene. There were also 24 reported victims of mail theft.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for grand theft at 2:09 p.m. on July 19 at 600 San Rodolfo Drive, Solana Beach. The victim reported a stolen black Super 73R bicycle ($4,500).

Alcantar, 29, was cited and released at 6:37 p.m. on July 19 at Cannon Road, Carlsbad, for misdemeanor driving with a suspended/revoked license from a prior DUI conviction and for operating a vehicle without a window/view. 

Butts, 53, and Coffey, 53, were arrested at 9:00 p.m. on July 19 at Swami’s Beach, 1300 South Coast Highway 101, Encinitas, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for misdemeanor disorderly conduct (alcohol). 

Escobar, 20, and Contreras, 35, were cited and released at 9:25 p.m. on July 19 at Target, 1000 North El Camino Real, Encinitas, for misdemeanor petty theft. The victim reported stolen miscellaneous goods ($730.54), which were later recovered.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for domestic violence at 5:04 a.m. on July 20 at 1800 Wandering Road, Encinitas. One victim reported apparent broken bones, and the other reported a severe laceration injury. 

Whitaker, 39, was arrested at 3:21 p.m. on July 20 at South Coast Highway 101 and Lomas Santa Fe Drive, Solana Beach, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for a felony warrant from another agency.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for battery at 3:17 p.m. on July 20 at The Taco Stand, 600 South Coast Highway 101, Encinitas.

Noel, 35, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. on July 20 at Cardiff Seaside Market, 2000 San Elijo Avenue, Cardiff by the Sea, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for misdemeanor disorderly conduct (intoxicated, drugs with alcohol). 

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for burglary at 5:18 p.m. on July 20 at Walmart, 1600 Leucadia Blvd, Encinitas. The victim reported stolen beige Beats Pro Wireless headphones ($349), two pairs of beige Apple Airpods ($178), twelve pairs of white Apple Airpods ($2,028), five pairs of white Apple Airpods Pro ($1,245), Beats Fit Pro Wireless earbuds ($299), two pairs of black beats Flex Wireless earphones ($99.90), white Beats Fit Pro Wireless earbuds ($199.99), gray Beats Fit Pro wireless earbuds ($199.99), Beats Solo Buds color 1 earbuds ($79.95), and a black Protege 32” wheeled rolling duffel bag ($29.72).

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for a vehicle burglary at 6:28 p.m. on July 20 at Men’s Warehouse, 1000 North El Camino Real, Encinitas. The victim reported a stolen black/white Omega watch ($6,500).

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for grand theft at 8:07 p.m. on July 20 at 1000 North El Camino Real, Encinitas. The victim reported a stolen white Coastal Cruiser bicycle ($3,700).

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for battery at 8:40 p.m. on July 20 at 1300 Evergreen Drive, Encinitas. 

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for a burglary at 11:29 p.m. on July 20 at 6700 La Valle Plateada, Rancho Santa Fe. The victims reported fifteen stolen purses ($75,000), a stolen safe ($18,000), a bracelet ($350,000), miscellaneous jewelry, three watches ($1,000), and a bag.

Luedtke, 32, was arrested at 2:41 a.m. on July 21 at East Street and South Coast Highway 101, Encinitas, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility for misdemeanor disorderly conduct (alcohol).
