BONSALL — Authorities asked the public today for help identifying a thief who ransacked a Bonsall tavern twice over several months.
The first of the two burglaries at Backdraft Bar & Grill in the 5500 block of Mission Road took place July 11, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Shortly before 1 a.m. that day, a man dressed in dark jeans, a black T-shirt and black-and-white Vans shoes entered a locked back patio at the business, removed security cameras and tried to detach an 80-inch television from the wall, causing an estimated $300 in damage.
The same burglar struck again at the establishment early last Friday, Sgt. Chris Mittler said. Shortly after midnight that morning, the perpetrator again sneaked into the patio at the rear of the bar and stole various restaurant supplies valued at about $950.
Surveillance video captured images of the thief, who this time was wearing camouflage pants and a maroon-and-black motorcycle jacket with a large logo on the back reading “Riding Legends Motors.”
Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call the Fallbrook Sheriff’s Substation at 760-451-3100.
