ESCONDIDO — About 200 people are expected to take advantage of on-site services and referrals provided at the Homeless Connection resource fair Nov. 15.
OCEANSIDE — The Housing Commission approved making a recommendation to City Council to allow churches and public facilities to provide emergency winter shelters on Aug. 27.
ESCONDIDO — Interfaith Community Services’ sobering mat program will end July 15. This means adults who are intoxicated will no longer have a place to sleep it off until they become sober, but instead will be sent to hospitals or the county jail.
COAST CITIES — Two nonprofits, Interfaith Community Services headquartered in Escondido, and the Encinitas Community Resource Center, have begun the process to merge agencies to better serve those in need in North County.
