Police seek suspect in bank robbery

CARLSBAD — Police responded to a bank robbery call on Tuesday afternoon at the US Bank at 2550 El Camino Real.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. police arrived at the scene after receiving a call, reporting that an unknown age white male approached a teller and displayed a handgun and demanded money.

The teller gave the suspect an unknown amount of money. The suspect then fled the area on a bicycle east bound on Haymar Road.

Officers searched the area for the suspect but were unable to locate him. Officers found a witness who said that a male matching the robbery suspect’s description was seen on Haymar Road. The witness saw the suspect place a bike in a late model white SUV driven by a white female. The suspect left the area in the white SUV driven by the female.

Carlsbad Police Officers and the FBI are conducting the investigation.
