BONSALL — Fallbrook detectives arrested a 33-year-old Oceanside man in connection with two commercial burglaries at a Bonsall restaurant and bar, authorities said Friday.
Benjamin Pritchard was arrested without incident Thursday on suspicion of two counts of commercial burglary, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Surveillance footage from July 11 and Sept. 25 captured Pritchard entering the patio area of Backdraft Bar and Grill, 5255 Mission Road in Bonsall, authorities said.
Pritchard allegedly stole numerous items and caused approximately $500 in damage across the two incidents, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said they used an automated license plate reader camera system to identify the vehicle used during the second burglary, which was registered to Pritchard.
Following his arrest, Pritchard was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
Sheriff’s officials said the automated license plate reader system remains a critical public safety tool, helping deputies identify vehicles connected to criminal activity and apprehend suspects. The agency said the case demonstrates how the technology supports ongoing investigations and community safety efforts.
