Man stabbed to death in San Marcos identified

SAN MARCOS — A 24-year-old man who was stabbed to death in San Marcos was identified today.

Kaleb Swed was found at around 4:55 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Richmar Avenue with traumatic injuries from apparent stab wounds, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said Swed was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 7 p.m. that day.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Ricky Pinedo, a San Marcos resident and alleged acquaintance of the victim, was arrested at the scene, sheriff’s officials said.

“At this stage of the investigation, the motivation and circumstances of the crime are still under investigation,” the agency said in a statement.
