VISTA — Homicide detectives were investigating the death of a man who was found bleeding in front of a gas station and convenience store in Vista today.
Someone called the AM/PM store in the 1400 block of East Vista Way at about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, saying there was a “subject in front of the (convenience store) door, bleeding,” according to Lt. Joe Barry of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies performed CPR on the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Barry said.
No further details about the man or how he died were available, “other than he was covered in blood,” Barry added.
According to the sheriff’s office, homicide detectives “are interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances and motive behind the incident. Based on the information obtained thus far, this appears to be an isolated incident,” authorities added.
Officials are asking anyone with information on the man’s death to call the Homicide Unit at 858-285-6330 or 858-868-3200 after hours, or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
