ENCINITAS — A man was arrested Tuesday after leading sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit through Encinitas that resulted in multiple vehicle collisions.
The incident began around 9 a.m. on Aug. 20 when deputies responded to a report of a prowler at a home in the 600 block of 4th Street, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect, later identified as Dominic Ferrara, 31, fled the scene in a vehicle, initiating a nine-minute chase. During the pursuit, Ferrara struck two parked cars and rammed two sheriff’s patrol vehicles before crashing into another car on southbound Interstate 5 near La Costa Avenue.
Ferrara fled on foot into a nearby neighborhood but was apprehended shortly after without incident, law enforcement said.
Ferrara faces charges including burglary, reckless evading of a peace officer, assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism.
