Homicide detectives investigating woman found dead

ENCINITAS — On early Monday morning, deputies from the North Coastal Patrol Station responded to a call to assist the fire department with a possible medical aid on the 1400 Spanish Bay Court.

At 2:10 a.m., deputies arrived to find fire department personnel on scene performing life saving measures on an unidentified female adult, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Department.

Ultimately those measures failed and the female, approximately 47 years old, was pronounced deceased at the house.

During the initial investigation it was determined the circumstances surrounding the death warranted a response from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail. Detectives from the Homicide Detail as well as the North Coastal Patrol Station are now conducting the follow-up investigation.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy and will determine the cause and manner of death as well as provide a positive identification of the victim.
