Rats in my belfry!

My condo complex has rounded roof tiles, each of which provides an entry point for rats.

So for five years we’ve had critters doing the conga line in our attic and drew the line when they started popping up in our kitchen. Now, with winter soon upon us, we finally rat-proofed the attic.

To make this little adventure a bit more exciting, a rat died in our HVAC system. Of course, living near the coast means no air conditioning to worry about. But with a cold, rainy winter forecast, we know we’re going to be turning on the heat in about eight weeks.

Better get someone in to inspect the system so we’re not breathing rat crud, right?

Yesterday I found myself driving behind a truck from Mauzy. Among other things, these guys do cooling, heating and camera inspection … just what I’m looking for.

And I learned all of this because their truck had a wrapper around the entire vehicle telling about Mauzy, the services they provide, and how to contact them.

As you may know, these wrappers can cover literally every square inch of a vehicle’s visible space, including the windows. The driver can see out, but all you see from the outside is the wrapper and its message.

So anyone in these vehicles is driving a mobile billboard, and someone like me needing their services can learn enough to recognize whether there’s a potential fit. It’s then up to the customer to check YELP reviews and do additional research.

Organizations are especially good candidates for vehicle wraps when they:

  • Drive frequently in a defined service area;
  • Serve consumers or small businesses locally; and
  • Can communicate what they do in just a few seconds.

Making this the perfect marketing tool for plumbing, home repairs, mobile services, pest control, retailers, restaurants and a host of others.

Of course, wraparound advertising isn’t for every company. Discretion-based businesses (doctors, therapists), luxury products, online firms, and those who do little driving are probably better advised to stick to social media, print, networking and traditional forms of marketing.

As you’re putting together your communications strategy for 2027, consider your team’s offerings, mobility and clientele. For the few dollars needed to wrap your vehicle, either fully or in part, it may be a worthwhile investment.

With that said, I wish you a week of profitable marketing.
