SOLANA BEACH — Highway 101 between Via De La Valle and Manchester Avenue, will be closed from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 16 for the California 10/20 special event race through Solana Beach along Via De La Valle and Highway 101. This 10-mile race will have runners, walkers and wheelchair participants passing 20 stages of live, local music along the course.
City staff worked with the event organizers, emergency responders and staff from cities of Del Mar and Encinitas for the past 15 months to discuss details regarding access for Emergency Vehicles and local residents, traffic control, and other logistical matters. Although portions of Coast Highway 101 and Via De La Valle will be closed during the event, businesses will remain open and residents will have access into and out of Solana Beach through designated routes.
