Golfers, sponsors and community supporters are invited to tee it up for a good cause at the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 28, at The Havens Country Club in Vista.
The tournament runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers something golfers do not get every day: the opportunity to play a beautiful private course. Chamber CEO Lila Hargrove said that exclusivity is part of what makes the event special, giving local players a rare chance to experience The Havens while spending the day with friends, business leaders and fellow community supporters.
Golfers can register as a foursome or sign up individually and be paired with a group. Registration includes a boxed lunch, green fees, range balls and more. The day will also feature an opportunity drawing and prizes for top golfers.
Not able to play this year? There are still plenty of ways to participate. The Chamber is offering several sponsorship opportunities, and businesses or individuals can also donate prizes for the drawing. One especially meaningful option is to sponsor a veteran to play, allowing a local veteran to enjoy the tournament even if you cannot make it to the course yourself.
A portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit the Center for Senior Wellbeing, the organization formed through the merger of the Foundation for Senior Care and the Fallbrook Senior Center. The Center serves older adults in Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow and De Luz with activities, services, resources and support throughout the aging process.
“We choose a different beneficiary each year because we want to spread the love throughout our community,” Hargrove said. “This year’s charity is especially important because seniors can too often be forgotten. The Center for Senior Wellbeing is doing important work to make sure they remain connected, supported and cared for.”
Whether you come to compete, sponsor the event, donate a prize or put a veteran on the course, the tournament is a fun way to support the Chamber and give back at the same time.
