Body found near Marron Adobe identified

CARLSBAD — The body of a deceased woman was found near the Marron Adobe in Carlsbad on Sunday, according to the Carlsbad Police Department.

The Medical Examiner has since identified the woman as 58-year-old Camille Millimet Morel.

Hikers discovered the body in an undeveloped brush area near the 3700 block of Haymar Drive on May 11 at about 7:30 p.m. and called the police, according to Carlsbad Police Department Community Relations Manager Jodee Sasway.

Carlsbad Police are investigating the matter as a suspicious death and investigators found no sign of a struggle, stated Sasway. Bedding and clothes were found near the body.
