The Encinitas Chamber of Commerce welcomes Michael Glenn as its new Board Chairman, a role he steps into with strong local roots and a clear vision for supporting the city’s vibrant business community.
“I’m really honored to step into this role,” Glenn shared. “What motivated me most was the chance to continue supporting a community that truly values collaboration and local businesses. It feels like a natural next step after years of working personally alongside business owners, nonprofits, and city leaders to help move Encinitas forward in a positive way.”
Glenn’s connection to Encinitas runs deep. “I’ve lived in Encinitas for 30 years and spent the past 15 working on economic development, hospitality, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement.”
His involvement with the Chamber includes serving as Co-Chair of the Business & Economic Development Committee and a member of the Government Affairs Committee. He also serves as Chair of the Visit Encinitas Tourism Advisory Board, where he led efforts for the redevelopment of VisitEncinitasCA.com — a digital gateway promoting the region’s attractions and cultural assets.
“Visitors don’t just come for our beaches and sunsets. They shop, dine, and experience what makes Encinitas special. That economic impact benefits all of us, and it’s vital that we promote thoughtful, sustainable tourism that supports our community year-round.”
Glenn believes the greatest strength of the Encinitas business community is its people. “Encinitas businesses are creative, passionate, and deeply connected to the community, with a strong mix of long-standing businesses, entrepreneurs, and creative brands, and the willingness to support one another.”
“My focus as Chairman will be on making sure the Chamber continues to be a strong advocate for local businesses, while also creating more ways for members to connect, share ideas, and be heard. I want the Chamber to continue to be approachable and focused on delivering value to our members.”

His perfect day in Encinitas? It’s a true local’s itinerary — coffee downtown, surfing Cardiff with his sons, tacos in Leucadia, a hike through Olivenhain, and ending the day at La Paloma with his wife — “if there was 25 hours in a day of course!”
