Woman killed in Encinitas crash

ENCINITAS — A woman died Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle while crossing El Camino Del Norte, authorities said.

The collision occurred around 7:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of El Camino Del Norte, according to Sgt. Kristy Trampus of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said a 2025 Nissan Z was traveling westbound on El Camino Del Norte when it collided with the woman, who was crossing the street.

The woman died at the scene from her injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and was not injured, authorities said.

Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
