Winston School kicks off anniversary events

DEL MAR — The Winston School kicked off its 25th anniversary celebration March 9 with a picnic, bake sale and entertainment provided by middle and high school bands, as well as the American Fly Boys, a newly formed group of professional, semi-professional and amateur musicians. 

Activities will continue through the spring, culminating with an anniversary dinner at the Mission Tower at the Del Mar Fairgrounds April 20.

The Winston School opened in 1988 to serve students with mild to moderate learning challenges including autism, Asperger’s syndrome, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, specific learning disabilities or disorders, nonverbal learning disorders and slow maturation.

Offering a college preparatory program, the school is open to students from grades four through 12.
