ENCINITAS — The Magdalena Ecke YMCA will host a trip to the annual Palm Springs Follies on Feb. 4.
Anyone interested in joining the trip should register at (760) 635-3050 to sign up for the trip. Questions regarding departure and return times for the trip should be directed to Toni Friedman at (760) 942-9622, ext.1436, or June Green at (760) 942-9622, ext.1429. Buses will leave from the Ecke YMCA Gym Entrance, 200 Saxony Road. To register, come by the YMCA in person or call (760) 635-3050. Registration must be received by Jan. 24 and there are no refunds after registration.
The Follies’ 20th season will celebrate its 20th anniversary — dedicated to the
proposition of “Follies Forever!” Lesley Gore will perform her gold-record hits, “You Don’t Own Me,” “Judy’s Turn to Cry,” “Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows” and “It’s My Party.” There will also, of course, be the chorus line of Long-Legged Lovelies and Follies Gentlemen (all 55 to 85 years young) along with impresario and emcee Riff Markowitz. Guests will find their own lunch in the village of Palm Springs.
