COAST CITIES — Finding parking near the beach can be a challenge. And it’s made tougher by signs in front of residents’ homes stating parking isn’t allowed there.
DEL MAR — The Sierra Club San Diego filed a lawsuit on Jan. 8 against the California Coastal Commission, challenging the agency’s Nov. 13 approval of a permit that allows the 22nd District Agricultural Association to continue using a vacant lot east of the Del Mar Fairgrounds for year-round parking and other activities.
ENCINITAS — A ban on parking alongside a portion of Orpheus Avenue aims to improve traffic flow.
DEL MAR — There are plenty of parking spaces in Del Mar, just not enough where people want them the most.
SOLANA BEACH — If all goes as planned, the 1.5-acre vacant lot on the corner of North Cedros Avenue and Lomas Santa Fe Drive, as well as the existing train station, could be converted into offices, a restaurant and an underground parking structure within two years.
DEL MAR — In an effort to improve what many call the “northern gateway to the city,” council members agreed at the June 3 meeting to negotiate a lease with North County Transit District for a 29,280-square-foot parcel at the northeast corner of Jimmy Durante Boulevard and San Dieguito Drive.
DEL MAR — Council members, some with reluctance, agreed at the March 18 meeting to move forward with a plan that would allow downtown property owners to pay a fee instead of providing some of their required onsite parking spaces.
CARLSBAD — Introduced at the Jan. 29 City Council meeting, the proposed recreational vehicle ordinance has garnered a wave of passionate responses, including more than 125 written comments submitted to the city.
ENCINITAS — The Cardiff Specific Plan is nearing the finish line.
