ESCONDIDO — A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a flatbed semi truck in western Escondido on Thursday morning, the Escondido Police Department reported.
The collision occurred at around 10:40 a.m. in the intersection of Meyers Avenue and Barham Drive, and traffic was shut down for hours while law enforcement investigated, according to the police department.
The name and age of the victim have not been released yet.
“Investigators with the Escondido Police Department and the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office on Thursday evening were working to identify the rider and notify his family, as well as determine the cause of the crash,” the Escondido Police Department said in an advisory.
