Los Angeles Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers keep setting the pace in the NL West, sitting at 69–46. Despite a recent rough stretch, they leave no doubt about their status as one of baseball’s elite teams. This group plays sharp on both sides of the ball, and that’s what keeps them ahead of the pack.

Atlanta Braves

Their current five-game winning streak is a sign of the assurance and momentum the team has taken into August. From top to bottom, the roster has contributed throughout this run of success.
Atlanta’s offense continues to produce, and its pitching staff has kept the opposition at bay in crucial series. They have leveled up to one of the league’s best clubs after back-to-back victories against good teams. If they continue on this path, the Braves will be one of the deadliest postseason teams in either league.
Tampa Bay Rays
The Tampa Bay Rays have now landed at the top of the AL with a 68-46 mark for another year of solid pitching, defense and timely hitting. They’ve been playing pretty well all year long and have been a team that has been closing away close games. Their well-rounded roster has kept them just ahead of the pack in the AL East, too.
Despite this, the Rays looked to bolster up before the trade deadline, inking starting pitcher Freddy Peralta. This star player gives them one more dependable arm in the rotation as we advance and bolsters depth during the postseason.
Chicago White Sox
The Chicago White Sox sit on top of the American League Central with a 59–52 record, up by three games over the rest of the division. Rather than conserving that lead, the front office made a change just before the trade deadline. They went all in, making it clear they’re serious about a long playoff run.
The White Sox got a huge boost for their rotation and their lineup with the addition of ace Luis Castillo, outfielder Brenton Doyle and catcher Joey Bart. Now, suddenly there’s depth everywhere you turn, and this team looks a lot tougher coming into the end stretch.

As the regular season wraps up, the 2026 MLB playoffs are set to be even more captivating than ever before. Dodgers, Brewers, Braves, Rays, White Sox, Red Sox, and Astros have all made their roster improvements and picked up their game with positive effort and moves. The battle for division titles and Wild Card spots is getting closer than ever, and each game will be a do-or-die situation. The challenge for them will be to maintain their momentum.
