Leading Note Studios: Where young musicians grow

Leading Note Studios is making it easier for young musicians to find their sound, build confidence and have fun doing it.

The North County music school, recently named a 2026 Gold Winner for Best Music Lessons, is enrolling students in small-group fall classes that combine real instruction with the energy of making music with others. Its nationally recognized programs are designed to help students become confident, capable musicians in a welcoming environment.

Fall options include Pop/Rock Vocal Band on Mondays from 7 to 7:50 p.m. for ages 6 and up, Ukulele Group Lessons on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m. for ages 7 and up, and Guitar Group Lessons on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m. for ages 7 and up.

For families comparing music lessons in Encinitas or music lessons in San Marcos, Leading Note Studios offers a social alternative to one-on-one instruction. Students get personal attention in small classes while learning to rehearse, collaborate and make music with others.

Each group class is $37.50, making it an approachable way for students to explore an instrument or develop their voice before taking the next step.
