ENCINITAS — Costumes, coastal miles and pure community fun return to Coast Highway 101 when the Cardiff Kook Run takes over downtown Encinitas on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, serving up one of North County’s most playful and picturesque race mornings.

One of the highlights of the weekend is the Junior Kook Run, held Saturday morning during packet pickup at the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA. Designed for kids ages 3 to 12, the Junior Kook Run offers age appropriate distances, enthusiastic cheering and finish line medals for every participant. It has become a favorite for families looking to introduce their kids to the excitement of race day and make the weekend a shared experience.
