CARLSBAD — Hospice of the North Coast invites the community to “Play A Round With Us!” at its annual golf tournament Oct. 11 at Shadowridge Country Club in Vista. The putting contest begins at 9:30 a.m.; tee-off time is 11 a.m.
The cost of $195 per person or $780 per foursome includes green fees, cart, goody bags, tee prizes, a barbecue lunch and dinner as well as unlimited beer, soda and water. Non-golfers can attend the 5 p.m. dinner gala, including a raffle and silent and live auctions, for $50 per person. Guests for both events can pre-register at www.hospicenorthcoast.org.
According to Board Treasurer and Golf Tournament Chairman Scott Pieratt, proceeds support HNC’s full spectrum of hospice services, including the end-of-life care, bereavement and healing programs this community nonprofit provides to all, regardless of ability to pay. He states, “The money we raise enables us to treat hundreds of terminal patients whose families will never be billed,” Pieratt said. “We ease our dying clients’ transition and help those who love them continue on their life’s path.”
The nonprofit Hospice of the North Coast was established in 1980 to fill the need for comprehensive, compassionate hospice care in North County. Since its inception, it has grown in services, staff and clients; it currently provides a full spectrum of programs to terminally ill clients and their families, including bereavement support. To fulfill its mission of maintaining dignity, comfort and the highest quality of life for those it serves, regardless of ability to pay, Hospice of the North Coast hosts fundraising events, operates a family support camp and resale shop, and maintains a cadre of volunteers.
