ENCINITAS — Encinitas City Council District 3 candidate Arielle Golden is prioritizing climate resilience, growth management and safer public infrastructure as part of her campaign for the November election.
Golden is calling for coordinated planning to accommodate new housing developments while minimizing traffic congestion, preventing infrastructure strain and preserving the city’s community character.
“With new neighbors moving in, we need to plan ahead,” Golden said. “Proactively managing our growth will protect our equity, boost affordability, and allow us to stay focused on preserving our community character.”
Golden also supports incorporating climate considerations into city decisions, particularly those affecting coastal protection and long-term sustainability.
Her platform emphasizes making Encinitas more accessible to residents of all ages and abilities through safer crosswalks, protected bike lanes, improved school routes and greater access to parks.
“I will make decisions focused on our future while honoring our community character,” Golden said.
Golden holds an MBA from UC San Diego’s Rady School of Management and previously served as chair of the North County Food Policy Council. She has also represented the region on the California Food Policy Council and worked in the sustainable food industry.
District 3 includes portions of coastal Encinitas and Cardiff.
Golden is running against Ed Sprague for the District 3 seat.
