Future RSF Association board meeting time changes

RANCHO SANTA FE — During the first meeting of the new fiscal year, RSF Association board members discussed the remainder of the summer schedule as well as a time switch.

For starters, there will be no additional board meeting for the month of July. That has been canceled.

Likewise, there will only be one meeting next month which will be held Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. Generally, board meetings commence in the mornings at 9 a.m., but the board wanted to revisit an evening time once again.

Currently, staff said the agenda for August appears light.

According to staff, evening meetings were done many years ago.

The board had a variety of reasons for their decision.

For residents with full-time working schedules, many are unable to attend the meetings and offer community input.

Also on the discussion table was attracting future RSF Association board candidates. Those who work full-time schedules may not have the flexibility to run for a seat with morning meetings, but if those were switched to after business hours that may change potential candidacy considerably.

The board ruled the feasibility in trying out an evening time slot and see how that plays out.

While the next evening meeting is slated for Aug. 7, staff has been instructed to crunch some numbers to determine additional costs since some employees will be working outside their normal business hours.
