Escondido police investigate fatal stabbing in alleyway

ESCONDIDO — A man who police say is a suspected gang murder in Escondido was under investigation today in a stabbing that left a man dead last night.

Patrol officers responding to reports of an assault found a man mortally wounded from stab sounds to his upper body in an alley off the 500 block of West Seventh Avenue shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to police, who did not publicly name the man they say is a suspect.

The victim died at the scene. His name was withheld pending family notification.

“The events leading up to the stabbing and any potential motives are still under investigation,” Lt. Kevin Toth said this afternoon. “However, it is being investigated as a gang-motivated crime. No arrests have been made at this time.”

Though at least one person reported witnessing the deadly attack, no description of the assailant was immediately available.

Anyone have a police scanner? I do but you can download one from the APP stores which will allow you to listen on what is happening in Escondido, I have been doing this for decades. Now since the 1990’s, the Escondido crime blotter resembles the menu at Alberto’s. Everyone knows this but NOBODY wants to talk about it especially “the “three amigo’s” in our City Council. Remember of last Chief of Police, “the solution to drunk driving is church groups”. Now I read that as a message, that the drunk driving problems in Escondido are Hispanic, listening to the scanner, that’s a factual assumption, so are the gangs, drugs, robberies, hold ups, prostitution, remember I lived here since 1984, none of this existed than, why today? Being from Chicago, when I hear of 40 shootings, 10 deaths, I’m not phased, been happening for decades so when I hear about crime in Escondido, not phased, I say, MOLDY FRIJOLES and DISS it. So when I see someone being stabbed on the south side, I immediately think LATINO gangs and go about my business, who really cares? This is the climate we live in, where someone who tries to pass a FUNNY TWENTY get’s treated like a king while our cities burn. I witnessed the 1960 riots, set back race relations back, today, set them back to the 1970’s and wh0 suffers? the looters and arsonists, the black community, that’s who. So when I hear about some “banger” being stabbed, I say SO and continue my life.
