DEL MAR – The Del Mar Historical Society is presenting a four-day celebration of surfing and sustainability.
The inaugural Surf Del Mar Festival will take place Oct. 8-11, with events at Powerhouse Park, Del Mar Plaza, St. Peter’s Parish Hall, and L’Auberge Hotel.
Scheduled events include an all-day surfing film festival on Friday, Oct. 9; a climate symposium on Thursday, Oct. 8; and a weekend surfing book fair, where attendees can meet authors and purchase their books.
There will also be a parade Saturday, Oct. 10, featuring vintage “woody” station wagons, and an all-day “surfer’s reunion” at Powerhouse Park from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. that same day.
