CNN.com reports that federal health officials are warning consumers to avoid a Gouda cheese sold in Costco stores in five sates.
Twenty-five people so far are suffering from an E. coli outbreak.
Costco sold the Bravo Farms Dutch Style Raw Milk Gouda Cheese between Oct. 5 and Nov. 1 and also offered it for tasting. The five affected states are Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada, according to the FDA.
If you purchased the cheese, dispose of it in a closed plastic bag and place in a sealed trash can. Costco is offering refunds to customers who return the cheese.
Symptoms of E. coli include stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea, dehydration and in extreme cases, kidney failure.
