CARLSBAD — Kitty Martini and Candice Reed’s interactive comedy show, “Thank You for Firing Me!” will be held at 8 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Carlsbad Village Theatre, 2822 State St.
“Thank You for Firing Me!” aims to provide comic relief for the working world and those worried about being downsized, laid off, fired, pink slipped or “asked to leave” their job. This PG-13 show will give audience members the opportunity to vent their frustrations, featuring stand-up comedy and audience participation.
Martini and Reed, authors of the upcoming book, “Thank You for Firing Me,” share their survival strategies for surviving the changing economy as well as tips on recreating and adapting job skills to the hottest emerging job markets. The show was created in September when U.S. payrolls plunged by 159,000, the most in five years. Ordinary American workers are being impacted as employers continue to cut payrolls in the weakening economy.
“The employment picture looks bleak as employers cut tens of thousands of positions,” Martini said. “In this crazy economy everyone needs an exit strategy.”
Advance tickets will be sold for $18 at www.after5comedy.com or for $22 at the door.
