Chefs of Del Mar ready to treat the palate

DEL MAR — Seventeen of Del Mar’s finest restaurants have signed on to participate in the 15th annual Meet the Chefs of Del Mar, benefiting Casa de Amparo, San Diego Community leader in the field of child abuse treatment and prevention. The event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. April 10 at the Hilton Del Mar, 15575 Jimmy Durante Blvd.
Tickets are $125 per person and are tax deductible. A special VIP reception will take place from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Tickets, which include admission to the main event, are $185. Tickets are available online at casadeamparo.org/events, by e-mail at [email protected] or by calling (760) 754-5500.
The VIP reception features wine tasting from Silver Oak Cellars, a gourmet cheese-tasting from Venissimo Cheese, a special performance by pianist Jordan Perez, reserved seating for the Chef’s event, valet parking, express checkout, a preview of the wine auction, special drawings and gifts. Attendees may take part in both silent and live auctions of tempting luxury items and services.
Chefs who will be serving samples of their signature dishes prepared onsite include Camron Woods/Amaya at The Grand Del Mar, Randy Gruber/Americana, Mason Garske/Brigantine, Francisco Castaneda/Hilton Del Mar, Tessaract Carson/Il Fornaio, Dustin Anselm/Jake’s Del Mar, Paul McCabe/Kitchen 1540 at L’Auberge, Izzy Balderas and Eddie Zamarripa/Pacific Coast Grill and Belly Up, Evan Cruz/Pacifica Del Mar, Jeffrey Strauss/Pamplemousse Grille, Christopher Sayre/Paradise Grille, Darrell MacNeil/Pasta Pronto, Mourad Jamal and Jorge Sotelo /Poseidon, Jose Montano and Jorge Benites/Red Tracton’s, Bryan Graham/Sbicca, Yoshi Nohara/Shimbashi and Tomaso & Augustino Maggiore/Tommy V’s. John Parker of Young’s Market Company will provide a selection of premium wines along with professional advice on wine pairings for each dish.
