That is the heart of Richness of Giving.
In 2017, local resident Andy Davis and a group of close friends came together with one simple idea: if they each did a little more for children who had far less, together they could create something meaningful. What began as a humble grassroots effort quickly became a shared mission. Richness of Giving was founded to help house, feed, and educate children living in poverty, and nearly a decade later, that mission continues to unite an ever-growing community determined to create brighter futures.
Since its inception, Richness of Giving has raised more than $100,000, helping local families facing unexpected hardships, partnering with nonprofit partners serving children and families, and building five homes for families overcoming generational poverty. Perhaps most remarkably, 100% of every dollar raised through the organization’s events goes directly toward its mission, ensuring every golfer, sponsor, donor, and volunteer becomes part of the impact.
While the organization has reached communities around the world through international home builds, its roots remain firmly planted here in Carlsbad. Every event, volunteer, sponsor, and donor reflects something unique about North County—a community that shows up for one another, celebrates together, and understands that sharing a round of golf with friends can also help change someone else’s future. The annual Richness of Giving Charity Golf Tournament has become more than a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of community, where neighbors, local businesses, and families come together not only to give back, but to enjoy each other’s company while making a meaningful difference.
