SOLANA BEACH — Coastal North County resident and women’s professional soccer star Alex Morgan has invested in Soccer Post’s new store locations in the San Diego area, according to a company release.
Morgan, two-time World Cup champion, Olympic gold medalist and team captain of the San Diego Wave, first invested in the New Jersey-based soccer retailer in November 2022 and continues to serve as a brand ambassador.
Soccer Post, acquired by CEO Blake Sonnek-Schmelz in 2011, has sold apparel, footwear, gear and equipment nationwide for more than 30 years.
“We are thrilled with Alex’s additional investment into the Soccer Post San Diego market,” said Sarah Jett, COO of Soccer Post. “She will help us continue to build authentic, meaningful connections with the local soccer communities we support nationwide.”
The company also announced two new stores in Chula Vista and Solana Beach would donate a portion of sales this summer to the Alex Morgan Foundation to help support opportunities for girls on and off the field.

I’m excited to share my passions for the beautiful game and advancing women’s soccer with the leading soccer specialty retailer in the United States,” Morgan said following last year’s announcement. “Together with Soccer Post, I am committed to supporting the next generation of soccer families and communities.”
