Victim of fatal Escondido motorcycle crash, 22, identified

ESCONDIDO — Authorities have publicly identified a 22-year-old man who was fatally injured last weekend in a late-night solo motorcycle crash in his hometown of Escondido.

Dustin Hamlin crashed the motorcycle he was riding at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of San Pasqual Valley Road, near Birch Avenue, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Paramedics transported Hamlin to Palomar Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead early Monday morning, the agency reported.

CORRECTION: This article has been updated to correct the victim’s age to 22. The Coast News previously reported he was 21. We sincerely regret the error.
