Eric Reed, 18, of Carlsbad Boy Scout Crew 706 recently earned his Eagle Scout rank. Reed has joined the Marine Corps Reserves and plans to attend Brigham Young University. To complete the requirements to earn the Eagle rank, Reed completed a leadership project at Hope Elementary School in Carlsbad where he built picnic tables. Reed attributes his father for helping him succeed in Scouting. “My father has always encouraged me,” he said. “He got me to work on merit badges and taught me to stay focused on scouting.” For more information, contact District Director Vic Enchelmayer at (619) 298-6121.
