The Encinitas Chamber of Commerce announced the recipients of it Rising Star awards for January.
They include Daria Sopa – Canyon Crest Academy; Elizabeth “Gracie” Mineiro – La Costa Canyon High; Lena Daitch San Dieguito High School; Veronica Hughes – Sunset High School and Irini Ampelas – Torrey Pines High School.
Rising Star program dedicated to recognizing local high school students who have demonstrated character, integrity, love of learning and involvement in school and community and/or have overcome challenging life circumstances without compromising their education.
