Longtime healthcare executive running for Tri-City hospital board

VISTA — Aaron Byzak, a resident of the Tri-City area and longtime healthcare executive, has announced his candidacy for the Tri-City Healthcare District board of directors in the November 2024 election.

Byzak, currently the chief strategist and lead consultant for Galvanized Strategies, a strategic communications consulting firm, has experience in healthcare and community service and aims to improve the quality of care at Tri-City Medical Center.

“I am running for the Tri-City Healthcare District board to be your voice and advocate for change in our healthcare system,” said Byzak. “Our community deserves access to high-quality healthcare services, and I am dedicated to making that a reality.”

Born at Tri-City Medical Center and raised in Carlsbad, Byzak has lived in Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Vista. Byzak has professional experience in emergency medical services and health policy advisory roles to state and local officials. He also spent over 15 years in healthcare executive roles at Tri-City Medical Center and UC San Diego Health.

Byzak said he plans to advocate for improved healthcare services and support the new partnership between Tri-City Healthcare District and an affiliate health system partner, including UC San Diego Health.

According to a statement, Byzak’s campaign focuses on enhancing healthcare quality, improving the patient experience, and redeveloping the hospital’s Oceanside campus while also seeking to restore community confidence in Tri-City Medical Center.

Byzak’s campaign has received support from more than 60 current and former elected officials, community and healthcare leaders, and organizations. Notable endorsements include:
