I am a Scripps Health patient and will soon be a Scripps orphan.
Next year, Scripps will no longer be taking HMOs (health maintenance organization), only PPOs (preferred provider organizations).
For individuals, this will be $200 a month, $500 a couple.
As a Social Security recipient, I cannot afford that. I have all my specialists at Scripps Coastal, including my cardiologist after I was diagnosed with heart failure. Now, I will have no cardiologist.
This is very traumatic and depressing for me. I would like to hear someone from Scripps recite the Hippocratic oath.
