Fallbrook seeks artists for Avocado Festival art competition

FALLBROOK — The Fallbrook Propane Gas Company is inviting artists to enter their avocado-themed artwork for the upcoming annual Fallbrook Avocado Festival this spring.

The gas company sponsors the “Art of the Avocado” art competition as part of the festival. Any artistic medium can be used; however, all submissions must have an easily identifiable avocado somewhere in the piece.

The competition offers three categories: photography, two-dimensional and three-dimensional art.

Cash prizes for the two- and three-dimensional categories are $300 for first place, $200 for second and $100 for third. The photography category cash prizes are $150 for first place, $125 for second and $100 for third.

Additional cash prize awards include the Merrill Everett Memorial Award, Holy Guaca-Moly Award, George Bamber Memorial Award, Honorary Mayor Award and the Avocado Chairman Award.

The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce will also select a piece as the “Chamber’s Pick.” The winner of this award will be invited to design a piece of artwork that will be used in the 2026 Avocado Festival logo.

Entries should be delivered to the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce office located at 111 S. Main Avenue in Fallbrook on March 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The community is invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award during the month of April at the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce office as well as the day of the Avocado Festival on April 13, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The winner will be notified that evening.
