VISTA — Psomas has been selected by the city of Vista to provide planning, engineering and design services for Phase III of the Inland Rail Trail project, a segment extending the trail from the Buena Creek Sprinter Station to the Melrose Drive Sprinter Station.
The Inland Rail Trail is a bicycle and pedestrian trail linking the cities of Escondido, San Marcos, Vista and Oceanside. The Inland Rail Trail will link with the San Luis Rey Bicycle Trail near College Avenue in Oceanside and the Coastal Rail Trail, providing the San Diego Region with an important system of interconnected bicycle facilities. The trail is located generally along the NCTD Sprinter railroad alignment between Escondido and Oceanside.
Phase I, from Escondido to San Marcos, is nearly finished with construction. Phase II, from San Marcos to the Buena Creek Sprinter station, is currently under design. A future phase will complete the regional facility from the Melrose Station through Oceanside to a connection with the Coastal Rail Trail.
Psomas, a consulting engineering firm, specializes in transportation, water/wastewater, and land development markets across the western United States.
